In the mid-19th century, the Brothers of Saint Louis began their educational institute in Oudenbosch. From mission territories, they brought back all kinds of objects: stuffed animals, special utensils, archaeological finds, and scientific instruments. What started as teaching materials grew into a unique collection.
In 1956, everything was brought together in one museum that later moved to the Regina building – a monumental school building from 1904. Since 1985, the collection has been housed in an official foundation.
The museum has now existed in its current form for 40 years – and has grown into a registered museum with an impressive collection that continues to surprise young and old.
